Dan O’Brien has 30 years combined experience in property insurance, restoration and renovation. Additionally, Dan has experience working with institutional investors as he’s partnered with private equity firms as an owner at two companies and advised PE funds on seven add-on acquisitions as an executive. Throughout his career, Dan has successfully led the “Greenfield” of eight startup companies. Dan’s executive, business ownership, entrepreneurial and private equity experience led him to the partnership firm of Bassett Creek, where he is currently the CEO.

Prior to Bassett Creek, Dan spent 16 years at Universal Restoration Services as a Partner/Owner growing the company’s net worth from $8 million to $48 million. Universal partnered with a PE firm and Dan was the top executive overseeing 6 companies with 14 locations nationally.

After exiting the restoration space, Dan spent the next two years starting Cornerstone Renovation group with his partners. Cornerstone specializes in Capital Improvement projects primarily in the multifamily and senior living industry. Cornerstone partnered with Bassett Creek Services, Inc. and became one of the anchor companies in Bassett’s portfolio.

Dan is a passionate leader whose career has always been centered on relationships and helping others to achieve success. This led him to create his own business in 2016, O’Brien Consulting 1, where he provides consulting services on operations, finance and culture as well as guidance on how to scale a business.

Dan owns and developed a proprietary industry leading software platform helping companies drive growth and accountability.

On a personal side, Dan is an avid outdoorsman and has a deep sense of faith in everything he does. His character is built on honesty and integrity. He is married and has two adult daughters.
